Frequently asked questions
How do I play?
Each koi swims only the way it faces. Tap a koi whose path is clear and it leaves the pond; if its path is blocked it bumps and swims back (that counts as a wave, with no penalty). Release every koi to finish the pond. Long-press a koi to see its path.
I am stuck. How do hints work?
Tap the brush: it marks the next right koi. You get 3 free brush strokes every day (they refill at local midnight), plus strokes earned by restoring the river and finishing the Morning Pond. You can also watch an optional short video for 1 stroke. The Sage's Brush gives unlimited strokes. Undo (the ink stone) and restart are always free.
What is the Morning Pond?
A new pond every day. If you miss a morning you can still play it within 3 days and keep your streak.
When is the Lantern Festival?
During the first 7 days of every month: 21 night ponds lit only by floating lanterns.
My purchase did not arrive, or I have a new phone.
Open Settings > Restore purchases while signed in to the same store account. If that does not help, write to us with the store receipt. Refunds are handled by Google Play or the App Store.
I lost my progress. Can it be recovered or moved?
Progress is stored only on your device; there is no cloud backup. Uninstalling the game or resetting the device erases it. Purchases can always be restored.
Can I play offline?
Yes. The whole game works offline; only the optional videos need a connection.
Are there ads?
Only the optional reward video for a hint. There are no interstitial or banner ads. The Sage's Brush hides the video offers.
How do I change the language?
Settings > Language. Koi Drift is available in 11 languages; on first launch it follows your device language.
How do I change my advertising privacy choice?
Where it applies (EEA, UK, Switzerland), Settings > Privacy options reopens the consent form. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Details: Privacy Policy.
How do I reset my progress?
Settings > Reset progress. Your purchases stay yours.
Reporting a bug
In the game, open Settings > Send feedback: your e-mail app opens with the game version and device details already filled in. Or write to info@ruicodex.com and tell us what you did and what you expected to happen. A screenshot helps.
